Separate parts
The shelving system is based on shelf ladders that you mount to the wall.
THE SHELF LADDERS come in the heights 67 cm, 101 cm, 237 cm and 271 cm in grey, white and off-white. All heigts can be combined with each other. To fit our shelves the width between the shelf ladders (Outer edge to edge) should be 45 or 80 cm.
THE SHELVES can be combined in different lengths, colors and materials. The height between the shelves is always the same. Our shelves come in the following lenghts: 45 cm and 80 cm – for two shelf ladders, 123 cm och 158 cm – for three shelf ladders, and 201 cm – for four shelf ladders. If you want longer shelves (a wider shelf combination) you can use our shelf extender.
How Portal shelf came to life
Portal shelving system was born in our first store on Sveavägen in Stockholm. I designed a shelf to exhibit the shop’s smaller products. It was easy to mount, very airy and easy to change and rebuild. After a little while customers started asking about the shelf. Many asked, and many many more and suddently I had a lot of enquirys. A long product development started and when I had found the right producer the shelf become a new Betonggruvan furniture. Since then we’ve developed it more and more, added new color ways, heights and accessories. All as a combination of your thoughts and wants and Betonggruvan’s designs.
