Common questions

How is my order delivered?

Within the EU and outside the EU, the order is delivered by FedEx. For smaller items shipped within Sweden, delivery is done via DHL Service Point. You will receive a notification when you can pick up your order from your pick-up point. For larger shipments, we offer home delivery, either through DHL or by courier via Bring if you live in the Stockholm area.

How much weight can the shelves withstand?

The shelves can withstand 50 kg per 80 cm section, evenly distributed across the shelf. Many customers purchase our shelf and fill it with the heaviest items, such as vinyl records.

Can I expand my shelving system over time?

It works great! Think of the shelf like a Lego set that can be expanded or divided. We're happy to assist you if you want to rearrange your shelf!

Can I get help drawing up a shelving system?

Of course! We're happy to assist you in drafting a shelving proposal. Contact us through our shelving form, and we'll get back to you with a sketch. If you prefer a free consultation via video call or in-person at our showroom, that works great too. Just shoot us an email at hello@tonnfurniture.com, and we'll be in touch!

What is the delivery time?

All items in stock are shipped from us within 2-5 business days. If any of your products are out of stock, the entire shipment will be sent once we have them back in stock. During peak times and holiday seasons, delivery times may be slightly longer. We reserve the right for any delays in production. If your order deviates from the estimated delivery time, we will notify you by email.

Assembly questions

Can the doors on the cabinet be adjusted?

If you wish to adjust the doors on your cabinet, you will find the following instructions here.

What type of screws should I use?

We recommend using a non-countersunk screw with dimensions L=60mm dk=5mm and a plug adapted to your wall. If you're unsure about the type of plug you need for your wall, we suggest consulting your nearest hardware store!

Is it possible to mirror the shelving system?

Yes! All our shelving combinations can be mirrored. No extra parts are needed!

Questions about payment & delivery

What does it mean when a product is on backorder?

A product on backorder is one that is currently out of stock. If you place an order with a backordered product, we will ship it as soon as it's back in stock. If your order contains both backordered items and items in stock, we will wait for the backordered item before shipping your order.

Can I change my address after placing an order?

As long as we haven't shipped your order, it's possible to change the address free of charge, provided Klarna approves the address change. If you wish to change the address after we've shipped your order, we can do so for a cost of €25. Please email us at hello@tonnfurniture.com if you need to change your address.

What payment methods do you offer?

We use Klarna checkout as our payment solution, where you can choose to pay by invoice, pay in installments, or pay directly with a card. If you have any questions regarding your payment, we refer you directly to Klarna, as we do not have access to your information due to privacy reasons.

How is my order delivered?

Where is my delivery?

Our aim is to dispatch all orders from our warehouse within 2-5 business days after the order is placed. During peak times or holiday seasons, this timeframe may be extended slightly. If you have ordered a product that is out of stock, we will ship your order as soon as the product is back in stock. Once your order has been sent from our warehouse, you will receive an email with a tracking link to monitor your order. If you have any questions about where your delivery is located after we have sent it, or when it will be delivered, we refer you to the customer service of the respective shipping company. Unfortunately, we do not have more information than they do, and to ensure you receive the best and quickest service possible, we advise you to contact them directly.

I want to order as a company, how do I proceed?

Do you ship to countries other than Sweden?

Yes, we ship to most countries worldwide! Please fill in your address at checkout to see the shipping cost for your country. Please note that there may be VAT and customs duties if you order from outside the EU.

Can I return an item?

Of course! You always have 30 days to make a return, provided that the products are unused and you still have the original packaging. Email us at hello@tonnfurniture.com and we will send you a return shipping label or schedule a pickup with a courier. However, we encourage you as a customer to think twice before placing an order, as all returns have an environmental impact. Within the EU, smaller shipments cost €15, and larger shipments cost €55 for return. Please note that you, as the customer, are responsible for the return shipping cost. Make sure that the item you are returning is well wrapped in its original packaging, as you are responsible for ensuring that the items arrive undamaged. If the product is used and no longer in its original condition, we reserve the right to make a deduction from the refund.

What is the shipping cost?

We offer free shipping within Sweden on orders of 5000 SEK or more. For smaller items that can be sent to a pick-up point, the shipping cost is 75 SEK. Within the EU the shipping cost is €15 for smaller shipments and €55 for larger shipments. We ship with FedEx to almost every country in the world. The shipping cost for your specific order will be shown at checkout.

Questions about the Portal shelving system

I've rebuilt my shelf and have some parts left over. What can I do with them?

Feel free to post an ad for parts or products you no longer need in TÔNN 4-ever! A Facebook group where you can sell, buy, and request our products.

Is it possible to adjust the doors on the cabinet?

Absolutely, the shelf can be placed in a corner! However, it's a bit more tricky and sometimes requires cutting the shelves. Reach out to us via our shelving form, and we'll assist you in planning a corner shelf.

Can I expand my shelving system over time?

It works great! Think of the shelf like Lego that can be expanded or divided. We're happy to assist if you want to reconfigure your shelf!

What is the color code for the shelf sides and shelves?

The shelf sides are painted in a color code system called RAL. It's possible to translate RAL to NCS, but it won't be perfectly accurate. Most paint stores can help you mix paint in RAL instead of NCS. Perhaps you want to paint the wall behind the shelf in a matching color! Below are the RAL codes for all our painted products: White: RAL 9016 Off-white: RAL 1013 Camel: RAL 1019 Danish red: RAL 2002 Blue: RAL 5023

Does the shelving system need to be anchored to the wall?

The shelf sides are typically anchored to the wall, either with two or three screws depending on the height of the side panel. There's also a way to convert the shelf so that it's mounted to the ceiling. Or more accurately, it's pressed between the ceiling and the floor. Here you'll find more information about the ceiling mount, and here you'll find our room divider Christer. The shelf isn't designed to be freestanding and must always be anchored either to the wall or the ceiling.

Can you assist with assembly?

At the moment, we unfortunately cannot offer assembly assistance. However, we are working on developing a solution and hope to offer an assembly service in the future!

Can you manufacture a shelf according to custom dimensions?

Unfortunately not. Our shelves are manufactured in large batches without the possibility of being made to custom measurements. However, it's perfectly fine to modify them yourself. You can cut the shelf ladders with a regular hacksaw and you can also saw off the shelves to the desired width to fit perfectly in your space! If you want us to assist you with a suggestion, please fill out our shelf form and we will get back to you!

What does it mean when a product is out of stock?

Did you not used to be called Betonggruvan?

Yes, we did! When Josefine Halfwordson started the company in 2011, she cast concrete tables in the basement of the apartment building where she lived. She used to joke that the elevator was the mine shaft and customers would descend into the mine. From there, the name Betonggruvan emerged, a name that has long stuck around, even though the concrete tables made way for other products. This year, Betonggruvan celebrates its 10th anniversary, and our community of shelf fans has grown far beyond Sweden's borders. To celebrate, we're changing our name, Betonggruvan becomes TÔNN furniture! If you want to read more about the name change, you can do so here.

Can you buy and return shelves at your showroom?

We unfortunately don't have any of our products in stock at our showroom; everything is shipped from our external warehouse. However, we're happy to assist you in placing an order at our showroom, which will then be shipped to your home. For orders over 5000 SEK, we offer free shipping within Sweden. Additionally, returns cannot be processed at our showroom; all returns must be sent to our warehouse. Please email us at hello@tonnfurniture.com, and we'll assist you in arranging a return. Please note that the customer is responsible for the return shipping costs.

Do you have any retailers?

We have very few retailers, and in Gothenburg, Fine Little Day sells our shelves. For those unable to visit our showroom, we're happy to assist with shelf planning over a video call. This way, we have the opportunity to "come to your home" and see where the shelf will be placed, and you can ask questions directly to us. To feel the materials and see colors, we're happy to send samples to you, which you can order here.

Do you offer discounts?

Our shelving system Portal maintains the same price year-round. We aim to offer reasonable prices from the outset so that you can make thoughtful decisions. We want a purchase from TÔNN furniture to be seen as a long-term investment that you can modify and expand over time, or resell when you no longer need it. On occasion, we may offer discounts for pre-orders, last items in stock, or to celebrate special occasions. Occasionally, we clear out discontinued colors, photo samples, or showroom pieces. When we do, we announce it on our Instagram.
