Thrive at home: Frida Schüler

In Betonggruvan’s mini interview series we explore what makes people thrive at home.

Today we meet Frida Schüler who’s (beside from being one of Betonggruvans first customers) are about to not only move into a new home but also furnish a summer house. Follow her on @fridaschuler! Now let’s hear about her big danish dinner table.

What is your favourite item in your home and why is it so?

I really love our big dining table. It’s a shaker table by Børge Mogensen and it’s big enough for 10 people. I fell in love with the legs and that it’s made of massive oak wood. We now have it in our summer house since it’s too big for the kitchen in our new apartment.

I bought it from a danish auction site for under 1000 SEK and after I had sanded the tabletop a bit it became perfect for our old apartment.

When do you feel your very best at home?

I love the 30 minutes just before friends come for dinner. The house is (hopefully) clean, I drink a glass of wine, playing music, lighting candles and setting the table.

What do you want to recommend?

Don’t be afraid of making impulsive things in your home. It’s fun and makes it alive. I often have the best inspiration after we’ve put our son to sleep and I guess we’re quite annoying neighbors using the drilling machine late at night.
Also, use a lot of mirrors in your decorating!
