Thrive at home: Janniche Kristoffersen

In Betonggruvan’s mini interview series we explore what makes people thrive at home.

Today it is time for Janniche Kristoffersen, who runs the blog and instagram account @bloggaibagis, sharing pics from her fantastic home, as well as DIY tips. Let’s hear her thoughts about celebrate the little things in every day life. Happy reading!

What is your favourite item in your home and why is it so?
It’s hard to just choose one but the one item meaning the most to me is a painting by my grandmother. She is 91 years old and she and my grandfather who passed last year have been my besties since always. I put it in my favourite book shelves, the wall in my living room that changes constantly.
How did it become yours?
My grandmother painted a lot when she was in her 40s and 50s and I was always surrounded by her and also my grandfather’s art. This painting in particular I got from her when she was cleaning out her wardrobe. I found it different than all the others, as they were often a colorful landscapes and this is in black and white.
When do you feel your very best at home?
I feel best at home when it’s clean and tidy which it usually is on Saturdays. I like the early weekend mornings, just before the sunrise, when the light is kinda blueish. I’ll make some coffee and light som candles and that is it. Just sitting in our kitchen waiting for the others to wake up is true bliss.
What do you want to recommend?
I want to recommend watching documentaries and going to music concerts. To celebrate the little things in every day life. We have this nice little tradition and that is that almost every Friday we buy oysters and sparkling wine – celebrating the weekend and some time off.
